Email

In its simplest form, email can provide the basis for a small discussion group, in which the content of messages is forwarded from one person to a list of recipients who, in turn, forward their reply and a copy of the original message to all other members of the group. This approach is informal, and works for small groups, but tends to generate multiple copies of messages and becomes increasingly unmanageable as the number of participants increase and the number of existing messages increase.
